Summary: Statistics showed that in Q3 2022, China's titanium sponge output maintained an upward trend and the output reached 16,750 tonnes in Sept., up by 64.22% YoY.
According to statistics, in July–Sept. 2022, the output of domestic titanium sponge maintained stability while displaying a tendency to rise. Specifically, in Sept. 2022, China's titanium sponge output stood at 16,950 tonnes, reaching the highest level this year and increasing by 66.18% YoY; China produced around 10,200 tonnes of titanium sponge in Sept. 2021. The titanium sponge output in Sept. 2022 grew by around 1,000 tonnes from 15,950 tonnes in Aug. 2022. The operating rates of titanium sponge enterprises attained around 57.14% in Sept. 2022; the overall operating rate scarcely changed in Q3 2022; the operating rates of titanium sponge averaged 57% in July–Sept. 2022 domestically.
In July–Sept. 2022, China produced around 47,810 tonnes of titanium sponge, a YoY increase of 40.41%. Notably, on 3 Oct., LB Group Co., Ltd. (LB Group) revealed on the company's website that its two major titanium sponge production bases in Yunnan Province and Gansu Province produced around 11,000 tonnes of titanium in Q3 2022. These two bases of LB Group produced 3,200 tonnes, 3,600 tonnes, and 4,200 tonnes of titanium sponge in July, Aug., and Sept. respectively, ranking it top in the industry in these periods.
